Worship Ministry

Looking for a "Heart" to serve

The MUSIC Ministry exists to encourage the church through song for worship and praise to the glory of God. We strive for excellence, understanding God deserves our best yet it is the “heart” of the worshipper that God is most truly interested in.

..
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship him.” John 4:23

“Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; Sing skillfully with a shout of joy.” Psalms 33:1-3

Is MUSIC ministry for YOU?
Where are your gifts and talents and can they be used for God’s glory in this ministry? You might think about helping with………….

Choir- The choir sings at Merriment On Main, for the Christmas Program, Easter Program and other special events. The only prerequisite is that you must be able to make a JOYFUL NOISE to the Lord. The choir is a great place to make new friends, learn more about singing and reading music, and generally have a lot of fun while serving the Lord in the music ministry.

PowerPoint-They can’t sing it if they don’t have the words!!

Power Point is a “behind the scenes” ministry that is critical to our worship gatherings. If you have a working knowledge of computers or the courage to learn a new skill, then you might want to consider helping in this important part of worship ministries.

Sound and Light Technology- This is another crucial “behind the scene” ministry where attention to detail is vital. Knowledge of sound systems is a plus but we are willing to train. If you have an ear for quality and pitch, and the personality to handle a certain amount of pressure, this may be the spot for you!!

Worship Team Member- If you feel you are a skilled musician or singer and have the “heart” of a worshipper then you should consider becoming a part of the worship team. An ability to read music, chord sheets or charts and being comfortable “on stage” is helpful. We ask that our team members be involved in a growth group or other “accountability” type small group where consistent fellowship, encouragement and study of God’s word are available.

“And coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected by men, but choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Christ Jesus.”
1 Peter 2:4-5
